Almost 2 weeks ago, I wrote about plans I have for August, and since then there are updates and exciting things to write on. There’s not a lot to see (yet, as many efforts are still done locally) but hopefully they will be published soon :)

Last week I wrote about containers, and what should be done further on that front. Since then, that PR was merged by Tim, and we can move forward benefiting from that now. I realized I have many plans for August that I could share them in a blog post. The plans are mostly related to changing things on userspace that should make the system more pleasant to use, and obviously more fun! :)

Last week I posted my thoughts on the upcoming changes on the package manager. While I did that, I also thought thoroughly on what the future holds for a viable security when using ported software on SerenityOS.

The SerenityOS package manager (called pkg in short, on the actual system) is a program that is intended to be used to install port packages in the system in a somewhat standardized fashion.

Since the fork with Ladybird has happened a month ago, things changed in the administration of the project, as the project no longer has a project leader, so everything in the project is decided by a group of maintainers. It will be very interesting to see the new path of the project from now on, and I trust that group to do well on our lovely project :)
